Abstract

Several clarifications of and additions to Greenwald and Russell (1991) are provided. Possible evaluation strategies as applied to individual studies and prospective meta-analytic samples as a whole are described, and circumstances where exclusion seems reasonable are indicated. Use of such inclusion/exclusion criteria can be protected from undue bias by formulating them prior to investigating prospective studies in the domain of interest.
