Basem L. Ra'ad

Basem L. Ra'ad is Professor and Chair of English at Al-Quds University in Jerusalem. Born in Jerusalem and educated in diaspora, he has a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and has published on Herman Melville, John Updike, landscape aesthetics, linguistics, ancient place names, travel writing, and other subjects. His recent research emphasizes ancient civilizations, identity politics, and the relationship of scholarship to public information.
