Educational measurement and speech communication instruction

Pages 241-245 | Published online: 22 May 2009

Abstract

This essay identifies and refutes some of the arguments which have been advanced against greater utilization of measurement methodologies in the speech communication classroom. The position is taken that appropriate methods of educational measurement are available, but have not been used because of an unwillingness based on a misevaluation of the nature and potential of such methods.
