The relation between communication anxiety and human motivation variables

Abstract

This investigation extends a recent study which observed a relationship between communication anxiety and the two general motives in Atkinson's theory of achievement motivation. The present study utilizes all six of the variables in Atkinson's theory, the two general motives and the four situation‐bound variables in the prediction of communication anxiety. Contrary to a previous study, no relation was observed between communication anxiety and the two general motives.
