Abstract
Over a period of years, the authors have used a relatively unique tool, the survival game exercise, to generate in-class discussion among their students. The authors use a future of retailing exercise as an example throughout the article, but encourage the use of this tool in other marketing courses. In addition, they put forward suggestions for developing and administering survival game exercises.
