Collaborative Health Education Research: Building University and Hospital Partnerships in Diabetes Program Evaluation

Abstract

This article describes strategies for health educators when conducting collaborative research between a university and a hospital, and the sequential methodology used to accomplish an evaluation project in diabetes education. Background information on diabetes and the diabetes education program at the hospital is provided. The article highlights both barriers and positive outcomes to be expected when conducting first time collaborative projects between an academic and clinical setting
