Utilization of the World Wide Web in Health Education

Abstract

The World Wide Web (WWW), an outgrowth of the Internet, can be a vital tool for health educators in schools, higher education, college health services, health care facilities, industry, and in the community. This article describes the basics of the Web, how to access specific health information, and how to utilize the Web in health education. Information also is provided on how to cite the World Wide Web in research papers. Several health-related Web sites with their addresses are categorized and listed with brief descriptions of each site.
