Abstract
Political correctness (PC) is a term commonly used in the 1990s, yet there seems to be little concensus by both students and health education professionals as to whether or not PC really exists, or what the term PC actually means. This article suggests that such a phenomenon does exist and that health education professional preparation should include a thorough discussion of the topic and its implications for recently trained health educators. Suggestions for inclusion in health education courses are included, in addition to examples of teaching activities related to PC.
