Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether state certification standards are being translated into practice under Montana's health enhancement model and to assess whether such an approach is providing quality professional preparation in both health education and physical education. By utilizing a questionnaire and focus group interview combination, the participants (N=25) provided information regarding their teacher education programs and actual teaching experiences. The results clearly suggest an obvious neglect of health education in Montana's health enhancement teacher education programs.
