Literacy, Information, and Governance in the Digital Era: An Indian Scenario

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the use of digital information in India for the purposes of poverty alleviation, the marketing of farm produce in rural areas, responsive governance, and provision of access to official records and information. The paper also seeks to identify better ways of using information and communication technology for Indian national development.
