Abstract

A new labdane-type diterpene, named zerumin, was isolated from the seeds of the Chinese medicinal plant, Alpinia zerumbet. The structure was elucidated by NMR spectroscopic methods including heteronuclear multiple-bond multiple-quantum coherence (HMBC).
