From the Editor

It is a great pleasure to release the first issue of volume 37 of Information Systems Management. Included are five articles. The first article, “The role of speed on customer satisfaction and switching intention: A study of the UK mobile telecom market” authored by, Bidit Lal Dey, Wafi Al-Karaghouli, Stanimir Minov, Mujahid Mohiuddin Babu, Angela Ayios, Syed Sardar Mahammad, and Ben Binsardi examines internet speed as a factor that influences customer’s switching intention in the UK mobile telecom market and suggests that speed, along with other network service quality variables, such as call quality and customer service, has a direct influence on perceived value, which in turn influences customer satisfaction and discourages switching intention. In the second article entitled “An Integrative Framework on Mobile Banking Success,” authors Mousa Albashrawi and Luvai Motiwalla provide insightful feedback for bank practitioners and financial institutions on how their users are adapting to the digital transformation of banking services through their use and experience of mobile devices. They provide deep insights from their IPMA analysis on how banks can efficiently guide the process of mobile banking services improvements and refinements. Next, in the article entitled “IT reliability and its influence on the results of controlling: comparative analysis of organizations functioning in Poland and Switzerland,” authors Agnieszka Bieńkowska, Katarzyna Tworek, and Anna Zabłocka-Kluczka explore whether mature economies have IT solutions with greater IT reliability, which in turn increase the quality of the controlling outputs, which in turn have an effect on the results of the outputs. The results of a comparative analysis between organizations in Switzerland and Poland reveal the outputs indicators in Switzerland are higher than those in Poland. The fourth article entitled “Open Source in Development: Enabling Business and Services,” by Georg J. P. Link, Jolanta Kowal, and Sajda Qureshi, analyzes the role of open source participation and employment in the service industry in development. The results reveal that open source participation and employment are together and individually positive moderators in the positive correlation of new business formation and development outcomes. Finally, in the last of the five articles, entitled “Approaches to Mobile Health Evaluation: A Comparative Study,” authors Samantha Dick, Yvonne O’Connor, and Ciara Heavin evaluate four techniques to use when evaluating mobile health (mHealth) applications. From a comparison of the four techniques evaluated, the authors conclude that each technique has shortcomings and call for further research into mHealth evaluation.
