THE VALUE-ADDED DBMS

Abstract

IS professionals have traditionally taken a pie-in-the-sky approach when explaining the contribution DBMS technology makes to the systems development effort. A new premise states that to justify the continued use of DBMSs in development efforts, IS must demonstrate that the technology provides a series of value-added transformations.
