MOVING TOWARD SELF-DIRECTION An Action Plan for Self-Managed Teams

Pages 40-46 | Published online: 31 May 2007

Abstract

Thawing old attitudes and behaviors may be one of the most difficult aspects of moving to self-directed work teams. If your organization dictates the move to self-direction, a plan for phased-in implementation can make the changeover to this new work style easier. With planning and commitment, self-directed teams can release the energy, drive, and motivation to help your organization reach new levels of accomplishment.
