Enterprise Client/Server Planning

Abstract

Client/server environments can maximize physical access to data and applications and a firm's ability to respond to change, yet they often lack the integration and control necessary to achieve organizationwide benefits. Enterprise architecture planning (EAP(, a comprehensive and time-intensive methodology, has traditionally been effective in complex yet stable environments in which systems do not frequently change. Leveraging the strengths of these two dissimilar approaches to the systems life cycle yields a planning program that balances order, security, and inclusiveness with flexibility and adaptability.
