Abstract

User–friendly PC–based data base management systems (DBMSs) have not displaced their mainframe counterparts. On the contrary, this survey reveals that an overwhelming majority of corporate users employ one of two mainframe–based systems, citing vendor support, performance, and reliability as their reasons for doing so.
