STRATEGIC PLANNING

STRATEGIC SYSTEMS SUCCESS

Pages 57-59 | Published online: 08 Feb 2007

Abstract

A study of the factors that best discriminate between companies that have successfully developed strategic systems and those that have not highlights the importance of IT experience and knowledge and a fit between capabilities and business needs. Other intangible factors such as a desire to innovate and be a technological leader appear to be more important than traditionally discussed success factors, such as top management support.
