Thickness effects on the physical properties in ferroelectric thin films

Abstract

Some experimental results on size effects in ABO₃ and layered Bi-based thin films are presented. The different thickness dependence of ferroelectric properties in these two kinds of films is discussed. It is concluded that grain size rather than film thickness plays an important role in the size effect of ferroelectric thin films.
