Abstract
An experimental procedure is presented for synthesis of the cantaloupe-like AlOOH superstructures by a hydrothermal process in aqueous solution of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). The structure, morphology, purity and size of the products are investigated by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nitrogen adsorption/desorption measurement and Photoluminescent analysis (PL). A possible formation mechanism of the cantaloupe-like AlOOH superstructure is proposed based on the reaction dynamics process and template-assisted growth.
