Abstract
The in situ mechanochemical auto-restoration technology of tribosurfaces has become a subject of great interest in recent years. This paper reports a study of the effect of Ag content in palygorskite (P)/Ag nanocomposites on friction-reducing and anti-wear properties of 45 mild steel tribopair. The electron microprobe has been used in its surfaces topography and elemental analysis. The study shows the auto-restoration layers formed on the tribopairs can decrease the wear mass loss and friction coefficient of these samples remarkably; when the Ag content in P/Ag was properly increased, it can help to decrease the friction coefficient of the tribopair samples.
