ABSTRACT

Pr2NiO4-Sm0.2Ce0.8O2-δ (PNO-SDC) composite were prepared by electrospinning method and used for cathodic material of intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFCs). The IT-SOFCs is operated at the temperature between 600 to 800°C. The PNO layer was coated on the SDC/NiO-SDC to prepare an anode-supported single cell and the SOFC performance were investigated. The OCVs performances of PNO-5 wt.% and PNO were obtained at 0.71 V, 563 mWcm−2 and 0.76 V, 260 mWcm−2, respectively at 800°C. Hence, the results exhibit that Pr2NiO4 –5 wt. % of SDC fiber can be used as a potential cathode material for IT-SOFCs.
