Abstract
Manganese magnesium ferrite nanoparticles (MMF NPs) doped with different concentration of scandium was synthesized by facile sol-gel method using citric acid as an anionic surfactant. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns indicate the formation of single-phase spinel ferrite structure with crystallite size in a range from 25–35 nm for raw MMF NPs and scandium (Sc) doped analog nanoparticles in 18–26 nm range. Scandium doping results in increase of lattice parameters. As the magnetic properties of these MMF NPs improve with dopant concentration, these nanoparticles can be employed in the development of sensitive biosensor application.
