Abstract

The frequency dependent dielectric relaxation spectra for binary mixture of chlorobenzene with 2-methoxyethanol and 2-ethoxyethanol at eleven concentrations at 303 K over frequency range 10 MHz to 20 GHz were studied using Time Domain Reflectometry. The mixture exhibits a principle dispersion of the Debye relaxation type. Dielectric constant (ε0), relaxation time (τ), excess dielectric constant (εE), excess inverse relaxation time (1/τ)E and Kirkwood correlation factor (geff) and corrective Kirkwood correlation factor (gf) have been determined and discussed in terms of the effect of -OH side group on molecular dynamics and intermolecular bonds. Conformational of the hydrogen bond is studied by the FTIR.
