Abstract

Glass series with general formula 30Li2O-(70-x) [1/7SiO2:6/7B2O3]-xDy2O3 was prepared using conventional melt quench technique. The Impedance spectroscopy (IS) measurement were carried out by Impedance Analyzer in the frequency range 2 mHz to 20 MHz in the temperature range 423 K to 673 K. Addition of dysprosium oxide in borosilicate glasses affects density, molar volume and glass transition temperature. Electric modulus data has been analyzed to study relaxation behavior. The dielectric constant (ε’) and dielectric loss (tan δ) of prepared glasses gradually decreases with increase in frequency and decrease in temperature due to electron hopping.
