Abstract

The Mn substituted Co-ferrite nanoparticles (MnxCo1–xFe2O4, x = 0 and 0.5) were prepared by co-precipitation method. Samples show single-phase cubic spinel crystal structure. Average crystallite size decreases with Mn substitution. Elemental composition of the samples is confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray analysis. A well-defined hysteresis loop indicates the existence of ferromagnetic ordering in the samples. An increase in saturation and remnant magnetization is observed with Mn substitution. The decrease in resonance field in ferromagnetic resonance spectra is related to the increase in internal magnetic field which indicate the increase in the ferromagnetic interaction in Mn substituted sample.
