Abstract
High pressure cooling assisted cutting has certain advantages in cutting difficult materials such as superalloy. Therefore, the residual stress on the machined surface of superalloy is studied with the application background of high pressure cooling cutting. Firstly, the formation mechanism of the machined surface residual stress was analyzed. Then, the influence mechanism of high pressure coolant on the residual stress of machined surface was studied. Finally, it is concluded that the maximum residual compressive stress in cutting depth direction of cutting superalloy under high pressure cooling should be less than that of dry cutting by theoretical analysis and experimental research.
