Thermally induced optical oscillations in PbLa(ZrTi)O₃ ceramics

Abstract

Optically nonlinear media having absorption and strong temperature dependence of the refractive index produce index change which is responsible for the thermal focusing of a laser beam. The optical oscillations in the far-field central part have been observed in many ferroelectric materials. The features of the oscillations are strongly dependent on temperature, laser power and thickness of sample.
