Abstract
The circular dichroism of cholesteric liquid crystal layers exhibiting selective reflection of neodymium laser radiation was investigated. The effect of temperature, CLC layer thickness and layer angle orientation on the circular dichroism was measured. The CLC materials exhibiting large circular dichroism independent on temperature in room temperature range were selected. These materials can be successfully used in circular polarizers for neodymium laser radiation and other liquid - crystalline elements of laser optics.
