Abstract

Novel unsymmetrically aryl-substituted diacetylene derivative (1), 4′-(5″-hydroxy-l″,3″-pentadiyny1)benzylidene-p-anisidine, was prepared. Reactivity of polymerization of 1 in the solid state was discussed based on its crystal structure revealed by an X-ray diffraction method.
