This work describes an extensive study of the compound 11HFBBBM7*[1], which presents the SmCα* phase in a relatively large temperature interval (≈3.3°C). The polarization hysteresis loops obtained at stabilized temperatures disclosed an antiferroelectric behaviour in the high temperature range of the SmCα* phase. Dielectric dispersion was studied as a function of the bias field.
