Abstract

Magnetic field model of the surface finite-length transverse crack has been investigated as a function of radius of the ferromagnetic rod with this kind of flaw marked on its surface. The case of magnetization by applied field is considered. Analytical expressions are obtained determining the maximum value of the tangential component of the magnetic field of a flaw Hxmax as a function of ferromagnetic rod radius. It is demonstrated that the obtained formulae can be transformed into already known expressions obtained in [1]. The computation results of Hxmax as a function of radius are given for various values of a lift-off and flaw length.
