Abstract
Trichlorobenzenes are included on the List of Priority Substances to be assessed under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act. Relevant data were critically evaluated to assess the human health effects of exposure to each of the trichlorobenzene isomers in the Canadian environment. However, available data were inadequate to assess the carcinogenicity in humans of any of the trichlorobenzene isomers. The estimated average daily intakes of each of the trichlorobenzene isomers for the general population in Canada are 2 to 3 times less than rather conservative tolerable daily intakes derived from studies in experimental animals.
