Are Doctoral Students Satisfied with the Education Process? A Study from the Perspective of Data Monitoring

Abstract

This study uses national time-series survey data to monitor the levels and changing trends of doctoral student satisfaction with their education process. From 2012 to 2016, advising ranked highest on the satisfaction continuum, followed by scientific research training, curriculum and teaching, the financial aid system, and management and service. The latter three indicators show the most significant weaknesses, albeit with a steady upward trend, and therefore require stronger reforms and pinpointed policy implementation.
