Municipal Strategic Planning: How Necessary Is It?

 

Abstract

This article covers strategic planning at the municipal level and aims to determine the need for strategic planning in the municipal formations of contemporary Russia. The goal is to study the current legal and regulatory framework of the standards of strategic planning in Russia and to provide examples of the drafting of strategic planning documents for the cities. The article uses qualitative, comparative, and systematic analyses and provides a synthesis of the results. The study draws several conclusions regarding the need to form a system containing the documents outlining the strategic planning of Russian cities.
