Abstract
What motivates therapists to specialize in eating disorders? And what personal and professional issues are evoked when working with this unique population? This account of a child psychiatrist-in-training's experience in an acute adolescent residential treatment program offers us a window into the countertransferential issues that face beginning therapists working with this population.
