C₆₀ Fullerite Intercalated with 4f Elements

Abstract

C₆₀ doped with 4f elements yields FCC and BCC derived structures. The phases show paramagnetic or diamagnetic behaviours, consistent most of the time with the classical picture of charge transfer between intercalant species and C₆₀ molecules. From such a description, it appears that stable phases can be expected to form with almost all the elements of the lanthanides series.
