Abstract
This overview features the main issues discussed in the workshop, “Economics of Carbon Sequestration in Forestry,” held in Bergendal, Sweden, May 15–19, 1995. The most important conclusion to emerge from the workshop was the need for a more widely‐accepted approach to the methodology used in economic analysis. Conceptual issues were discussed, and approaches proposed. Details on those issues and proposals can be found in the working group papers that are contained in this volume.
