Can recycling of waste help us to sequester carbon in forestry? Experimental results and economic visions

Pages 259-268 | Published online: 09 Jan 2009

Abstract

This study deals with describing the carbon sequestration potential and the economic prerequisites when using waste water as fertilizer. There is a large potential to sequester carbon and at the same time purify waste water in Norway spruce. It is concluded that the costs for sequestering carbon through application with waste water can be lower than when using commercial fertilizers.
