Let Iv(x) be the modified Bessel function of the first kind and of order v. In this paper an algorithm is presented for calculating bounds of the ratio with the use of the theory of continued fractions. A sequence of lower and upper bounds can be found whose calculation is more effective and simple in comparison with other known bounds.
