Abstract
For each of the 33 maturity, structural, muscular strength, and motor ability measures, the mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation were computed for 40 boys at each age 9 to 15 years inclusive. In presenting the mean growth curves for the various measures, an attempt was made to identify the differences in form which occurred. It was shown that the Medford, Oregon, boys used as subjects in this study were physically superior to normal populations, as reflected from above average scores on the Physical Fitness Index test. Further, it was contended that the nature of the physical education program in which the subjects regularly participate is a significant factor affecting the status of their musculatures.
