Abstract
This study was designed to illustrate how height and weight data may be combined by use of the Physical Growth Record charts into two-way classification tables for group evaluation, and to make an analysis of the data thus combined. Physical Growth Record charts were used to determine height and weight ratings for 1200 midwestern boys. These ratings were recorded in two-way classification tables. Distributions of height-ratings and of weight-ratings were compared with 1947 physical growth record norms and with 1963 revised norms. Ratings of subjects from the 1947 charts were compared with those from 1963 charts. Physical Growth Record classifications of a selected group of the subjects were compared with Wetzel Grid classifications. Suggestions are given regarding possible uses of PGR ratings.
