ABSTRACT
The use of lasers as irradiation sources for molecular fluorescence and spectroscopy has increased the sensitivity and selectivity of these analytical techniques. A new design approach has been taken to satisfy both the safety requirements of laser bean containment and the utilization of components for various analytical techniques. This approach is in the form of a modular component optical system.
