Community-Based Resources for Persons with Aphasia and Their Families

Abstract

The article traces the emergence of associations for persons with aphasia and their families in Finland, Germany, Sweden, England, Japan, and the United States, and the subsequent formation of pan-national associations. Historical and current contributions of American associations to resources availableto persons with aphasia and their families are also explored.
