Abstract

The retention characteristics of 16 alkoxy-phenylbenzamide derivatives were determined by employing various stationary (impregnated silica and alumina) and mobile phases (mixture of water with acetone, methanol, tetrahydrofuran, acetonitrile, dioxin) and the lipophilicity parameters (lipophilicity, extrapolated to zero concentration of organic modifier; specific hydrophobic surface area) were calculated from the retention data. The data indicated that both the characteristic and concentration of the organic modifier influence the determination of lipophilicity parameters.
