Abstract
A photodiode array detection system was applied to capillary gel electrophoresis and gave reliable spectra of single-stranded oligodeoxynucleotides and double-stranded DNA restriction fragments even in the presence of high UV background caused by polyacrylamide within the capillary. Photodiode array detection enabled accurate characterization of separated DNA fragments and was a powerful tool for the identification of oligodeoxynuelcotides.
