The infant‐family resource program: Facilitating optimal development

Summary

The goals of the Infant‐Family Resource Program is to facilitate optimal development of infants and their families, reducing the incidence of psychosocial disorder. A multifaceted approach is utilized which consists of basic research, preventive‐intervention services to infants and their families, and the provision of consultation and education to health professionals. This paper provides a description of the program from its inception with special attention to research results and process issues.
