A Design Integrated Model in Strategy Management for Upgrading Heavy Oils

Abstract

There are four factors that affect the upgrading heavy oil process: catalyst management, heavy oil properties, process design, and economic issues. Despite many efforts in each field individually, no tool-supported systematic method for integrating them in upgrading processes exists. This contribution presents a methodology for upgrading heavy oils strategy, which is characterized by a communication link between these factors that related to each other and effects as one system in the upgrading process. The proposed methodology supports the model that requires generating quality data to the previously mentioned four factors in the upgrading system.
