Metrological Analysis by Measurement Uncertainty of the Shrinkage Factor in Oil

Abstract

An approach different from the API approach to calculate the shrinkage factor in oil is proposed. Calculation and expression of measurement uncertainty, even though compulsory in some situations, as in this case, required by the latest revision of the Brazilian regulations can be seen as a powerful tool to better understand the method. In this case, the contributions from scale resolution of volumetric glassware and repeatability are those that denigrate the analysis most.
