Control of health hazards due to sulfur dioxide pollution

Abstract

The hazards due to environmental pollution by sulfur dioxide are reviewed, the current methods and new trends suggested for pollution control of sulfur dioxide such as removal of sulfur either before or after the combustion of petroleum products or fuels, chemical reaction with water, conversion of sulfur dioxide to elemental sulfur, dry absorption of the gas, and wet scrubbing, are also presented.
