Abstract
The vibrations produced by chewing and moving actions of first‐and second‐instar Caribbean fruit fly, Anastrepha suspensa (Loew), larvae in infested grapefruit, guava and loquat were detected with an accelerometer. The circadian rhythms showed continuous larval activity. The larval vibrations produced a nonperiodic signal that ranged from 80 to 800 Hz.
